Trisha in Sarvam

Trisha and Arya are in the lead roles.  Some one spread a rumour that there was a clash between Trisha and Vishnuvardhan.  But shooting of the film is going on without any interruption.

There is a scene in the film where Trisha is dying and Trisha did not like it.  That was the essence of the rumour.  Aside from that Trisha had acted in a two-piece swimming dress in a song sequence that was shot in Goa.

Having dressed up homely Nayantara in a two-piece dress, Vishnuvardhan had done the same thing with Trisha.  But don't expect to see Trisha in a dress like Nayantara.  Reason: Trisha is only wearing a semi swimming dress.

Zee buys Naan Kadavul for Rs. 16 crores

Zee Network, which has entered Tamil media world, has acquired its first big time film. It has bought Bala's Naan Kadavul for Rs. 16 crores, which cost Rs.14 crores to make. Zee TV, which will start a Tamil TV channel very soon, has realized that it will have to own the rights of various famous Tamil films to be successful in the local films in the TV circuit. With this plan, it has bought the rights of this much-hyped film, which will surely do well for its offbeat theme. With its experience and revenue, Zee poses a great challenge to local Tamil channels such as Kalaignar or Sun network.

Naan Kadavul, starring Arya and Pooja, was in the making for the past two years. The film's theme is bold, novel, and never-been-tried before! It delves into unfathomable and obscure minds and lives of godmen and those with altered states of mind. The film traces the life of Aghori sadhus, a sect that practices necrophagous cannibalism, i.e. they feed on human corpses. Aghoris eat parts of corpses left afloat in the Ganges; some aghoris claim it gives them immortality and supernatural powers, while others claim it gives them moksha. The film also concentrates on the minds of mentally- and physically-challenged people and how they develop an altered state of mind to overcome what society sees as a shortcoming. In fact, some of their ideologies will force one to redefine the boundaries of sanity or physical handicaps.

There is no filmmaker other than Bala who has tried such an obscure subject before. Bala's fascination with these people who live with an altered state of mind results in a valuable presentation called Naan Kadavul, which is a definite tool that can help humanity expand their knowledge.

The film is planned for release on Diwali.

'Naan Kadavul' is sold

Very few films escape the buying spree of Kalaignar TV. Knowing this, Sun Pictures is on a mega buying spree. And has started its account by buying up 'Kaadhalil Vizhundein,' 'Siva Manasula Sakthi,' 'Thenavattu' and 'Pookadai Ravi.'
Close on its heels, Z TV that is soon to start telecast in Tamil, has bought up all the distribution rights of Bala's 'Naan Kadavul.' Produced at 13 crores, Z has paid 16 crores for the film.

Sarvam title changed?

Is Vishnuvardhan's Arya - Trisha - J.D Chakravarthy starrer Sarvam jinxed?

After two technicians died in a lift accident on the sets of the film, its villain JD got injured on the sets of the film.

The last schedule of the film has been going on in Munnar, and during a fight scene being picturised, JD got badly injured when he got hit on the chest.

Kollywood astrologers had advised Vishnu not to keep the Sarvam title for film, but he went ahead and shot.

But in a superstitious industry there are so many unexplained and unrelated incidents that occurred on the sets of the film. Now we hear the title of the film may change.

Naan kadavul Arya

After the release of Vishnuvardhan's Pattiyal, Arya was touted as one of the fastest rising young guns in Kollywood in 2006. The boy with no film connections had become red hot and commanded an opening. But somewhere along the way his carefully laid out plans went awry for no fault of his.

Arya's last release was Vattaram for Diwali 2006 which bombed miserably, and his Auto due for Pongal 2007 could not release due to the producers financial problems. And he could not sign any new film as he had signed Bala's Naan Kadavul, which is still in the making!

Meanwhile Auto stuck in the cans for more than a year, underwent a name change to get entertainment tax benefits and became Oram Po. Like the title indicates, Arya had to make way as other heroes took over and soon he was only in the news for Bala's Naan Kadavul shooting stories.

Today (Nov 30) finally Oram Po is releasing all over Tamilnadu, and Arya is feeling the pressure sitting on the location of his never-ending Naan Kadavul shoot in Theni! Says the optimistic actor who has a great sense of humour: "It is a fun film which will keep you entertained for 2 hours. The characters and story is sure to appeal to everyone. I am keeping my fingers crossed to hear reports from friends and fans."

Naan Kadavul song - Power of Ilaiyaraaja

The secrets of Naan kadavul has been kept in secret till now. This movie is almost nearing completion and in an scoop interview to a Tamil rag, the director has confessed some of the closely guarded secrets of the movie. Naan Kadavul is mostly shot in the banks of the Hindu sanctum river Ganges and opens with Arya's rudradadavam in the shorings of the Ganges. When retrieving an incident during the shooting, Bala adverted that a Sadhu visited the spot after hearing the song "Orumurayaa Irumurayaa" composed by Maestro Ilayaraja and did not leave place till the song gets over. "He heralds from northern India and did not infer a word of Tamil, But still, I could see tears running down his cheeks towards the end of the song," Bala added. The Sadhu touched Bala's feet before leaving mentioning that he could trace the meaning of the song without understanding the language. 'Such was the baron of music and that was when I agnised Ilayaraja's music has no boundaries,' Bala further said.

Bala has brought to light the lives of Agory Sadhus, who are said to be cannibals surviving on the dead in the banks of river Ganga, for the first time in Indian cinema. The movie also concenters on the lives of physically and mentally challenged people and beggars. "I wanted to engage real people in the movie and hence we had to interact with such people a lot to make them extradite the dialogues perfectly," Bala added.

Arya plays an Agory in this movie. There are certain scenes of Arya devouring Pooja's dead body which might pay for trouble from the censor board. However, Bala has an equally powerful climax scene in hand just suppose if the censor officials raise concern. Besides, Bala disclosed that the climax fight scene took about one month to shoot. He said that the fight scenes would be real and they had to work for a month to that effect. Thus this movie seems to convey a typical work of Bala. Let's wait for the movie to be released.
